ROADWORKS / LANE RESTRICTIONS

# Foxrock Church to Dún Laoghaire Dart Station QBC and Cycle Track Scheme-Kill Avenue Section ***
Quality Bus Corridor (QBC) works are continuing on Kill Avenue. A Traffic management plan is in operation. Please note that road surfacing works will commence on Friday, May 20th, and will take approximately 5 working days. Phase 1 of the surfacing works, which includes the northside and southside carriageways from Rose Park to Ashgrove (excludes bus lane) commences on Friday 20th. This phase will have limited impact on road users as there are 3 traffic lanes along this area and therefore stop/go traffic management is not necessary. Phase 1 is anticipated to last for 1 day. Phase 2 of the surfacing works, Ashgrove to Carriglea Gardens, both northside and southside carriageways will require stop/go traffic management. These works are scheduled to commence on Sat 21st or Monday 23rd May (depending on site progress). It is proposed to operate stop/go traffic management from Ashgrove to Carriglea Gardens, circa 250m. Phase 2 is anticipated to last for 2 days. Finally, Phase 3 of surfacing works will be carried out once Phase 2 is complete. Phase 3 is anticipated to commence on Tuesday 24th or Wednesday 25th May (again depending on progress) and will be of 2 days duration.

Marine Road/ Crofton Road/ Queens Road: Pedestrian walkway at the Metals with upgrade works to Crofton Rd, Marine Rd & Queens Rd ***
Marine Rd / Crofton Rd / Queens Rd will undergo resurfacing & alignment works with new public lighting & tree planting. A new signalized pedestrian crossing point will be provided outside the Dart Station. The signalised junction between Marine Rd / Crofton Rd / Queens Rd will be upgraded to create greater pedestrian areas with wider pavements and a public space being provided outside Meadows & Byrne. Works commenced in May 2010 on Crofton Rd and will proceed in a phased manner throughout the scheme with a completion date of May 2011.

Mounttown Road Lower, Glenageary Road Upper, Kill Lane (part) ***
On Thursday 7th April, the traffic lights were switched on at the junction of Kill Avenue/Honeypark, at the Old Mounttown roundabout junction (Glenageary Road Upper/Kill Avenue/Mounttown Road Lower). A set of pedestrian lights have been switched on along Glenageary Road Upper at the future entrance into the north and south Cosgrave development sites (Old Dun Laoghaire Golf Club lands). The new traffic signals at the junction of the old Mounttown roundabout have full pedestrian signalised crossings across the 5 roads at the junction. Formerly there was no priority given to pedestrians at this junction. The provision of signalised pedestrian crossings, for pedestrian safety, will lead to queuing for motorists at busy times of the day. There are still some outstanding works to be completed including the installation of red surfacing for the cyclepaths at junctions, red surfacing at bus stops, the erection of Advance Directional Signage and the finishing of outstanding snagging works. There will be a requirement for Traffic Management measures to be put in place to carry out some of these outstanding finishing works. All these works are being carried out, by Cosgrave Developments, as part of the Planning Conditions for the adjacent Cosgrave development (Old Dun Laoghaire Golf Club) (South).
