I am pleased to see that Grove Avenue has been included in the 2010 Roads Programme – you can view the programme by clicking here.

I have also put down a motion to the Dún Laoghaire Area Committee to prioritise works here, as follows:

“That the Manager arrange for road works to be carried on Grove Avenue, to widen the avenue as a matter of priority, particularly as it approaches the junction with Avoca Avenue, where there is barely room for two cars to pass.”

I have further co-sponsored the following motion with Councillor Boyhan, as follows:

“That this committee request the Manager to prepare a local road improvement scheme for part of Grove Avenue, (section leading from the junction of Glenart Avenue to Avoca Road) to address safety concerns of both pedestrians and motorists. Any new scheme should seek to retain the greatest number of trees possible, along the boundary of Talbot Lodge.”
