The Council is proposing to implement road safety measures on Killiney Hill Road at the junction with Military Road and on approach roads.killiney-church

The proposed scheme includes traffic calming measures on Killiney Hill Road on the north side of the junction with Military Road, between the speed alert sign at Villa Marie, and Military Road. Provision of a “4-way Stop” at the junction of Killiney Hill Road and Military Road, and a right turn ban from Military Road (East) northbound onto Killiney Hill Road towards Church Avenue. The proposed alternative route for right turning traffic is via Seafield Road.

The scheme is designed to significantly improve road safety at the junction of Killiney Hill Road and Military Road, by way of a reduction in traffic speeds together with improved road signage and markings and an upgrade of public lighting in the vicinity.

Plans illustrating the above scheme will be on display from Thursday 8th April to Friday 7th May 2010 inclusive at County Hall, Marine Road, Dún Laoghaire, Co. Dublin and in Dalkey Library, Castle Street, Dalkey.

Plans are also available to download from Council’s website here. The Council welcomes comments and observations, particularly from people with disabilities.
