Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is proposing a number of temporary road closures in the coming weeks, for various reasons. Any interested party may lodge an objection to any one of these proposed temporary closures by writing to—

Roads in Dún Laoghaire to facilitate cycle race

A temporary closure of the following roads is proposed on Sunday 31st July 2010 from 7.30am to 10am, at the request of Focus Ireland, to facilitate a cycle race as part of a charity triathlon:

  • Old Dun Leary Road
  • Seapoint Avenue
  • Newtown Avenue
  • Temple Hill
  • Monkstown Road
  • Monkstown Crescent
  • Cumberland Street
  • Clarence Street

A traffic management plan will be in place and diversions will be signposted. Full details of the diversions will appear on the DLRCoCo website here this week. Objections not later than 12 noon on Friday 15nd July 2011.

Roads in Dún Laoghaire to facilitate DLR 10k “by the bay” road race

Temporary closure of the following roads is proposed from 6am to 12.30pm on Monday 1st August 2011 in order to facilitate the DLR 10k “by the bay” road race:

  • Newtownsmith
  • Windsor Terrace
  • Queens Road
  • Crofton Road
  • Harbour Road

And the following will be subject to rolling closure as the race progresses between 9.50am and 12.30pm:

  • Dun Leary Road
  • Longford Terrace
  • Seapoint Avenue
  • Seafield Avenue
  • Monkstown Road
  • Carrickbrennan Road
  • Mounttown Upper
  • Mounttown Lower
  • Upper Glenageary Road
  • Albert Road Upper
  • Albert Road
  • St Catherine’s Road
  • Castle Park Road
  • Elton Park
  • Sandycove Road
  • Glasthule Road
  • Link Road

Church Road, Ballybrack

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council proposes to temporarily close Church Road in Ballybrack to through traffic, from its junction with Wyattville and Military Roads to its junction with Killiney Avenue – from Monday 8th August to Friday 2nd September inclusive – to facilitate road restoration works.
