I was going door-to-door on Trimleston Drive recently, when residents brought to my attention that a diseased sycamore tree had been removed from there and not replaced. I have raised this issue with the Council (see below) and the tree will be replaced. However, due to cut backs and a reduction in funding from central government, it seems that it will be next year before the tree is planted. I will raise this issue again with a view to expediting it.

DLE/106/10 – Planting of Sycamore Tree
Question: Councillor B. Ward
“To ask the Manager if a sycamore tree can be planted (to replace a diseased tree that has been removed) in the space that has been prepared for that purpose, outside (details supplied), and if the tree stump outside (details supplied) can be removed?”
The above works have been noted and scheduled into the Tree Care Programme for 2011/12 and will be carried out subject to funding being made available.
