The Department of Transport recently notified the Council of the grants for 2010.

In accordance with Circular, the 3-Year Restoration Improvement Grant is suspended for 1 year because of the recent bad weather.

Following notification the Council assessed the conditions of roads throughout the County. The criteria for assessment are:

  • road condition
  • traffic levels
  • traffic safety
  • future life of the road, pavement, etc.

Most of the roads in the Council’s 3-Year Programme are included.

It is planned to begin works as soon as possible.

Utilities will be notified to ensure that they have no works planned for these roads.

Road Maintenance will also continue with the budget allocated in the Estimates carrying out necessary repairs to roads and footpaths to ensure roads are safe and to maintain the life of the pavement.

The following are the proposed road schemes to be funded from the Restoration Improvement Grant. You can view a map showing road locations by clicking here:  100315_2010-roads-footpath-programme-41

I am involved in the maintenance and safety of pedestrian access to and from Holy Trinity Church and vehicular and pedestrian access to The Carry Hall opposite the Chirch on Killiney Hill Road. As such I am interested to establish the nature of the works to be carried out on that part of Killiney Hill Road.
    Many thanks
