Up grade of junction between
Stradbrook Road & Deansgrange Road
The junction between Stradbrook Road and Deansgrnage Road is being upgraded for safety and capacity reasons.
The main changes will be as follows:
• There will no longer be a right turn onto Stradbrook Road from Deansgrange Road when driving towards Blackrock;
• There will be a filter light for traffic coming from Blackrock direction to turn left up Stradbrook Road;
• On Stradbrook Road, there will be one right-turning lane only (towards Blackrock), and one left-turning lane (towards Deansgrange);
• Facilities for cyclists and pedestrians will be improved.
The Council has told me that the works would be completed by Friday the 26th of November, although this has been delayed, but a traffic management plan will be in operation during the period of the works. Please let me know if there is any element of the works that is causing you difficulty
Several residents have been in contact with me to express concern that the constant fow of traffic turning left up Stradbrook Road will make it difficult for people to enter/exit drives and/or roads on that side of Stradbrook Road.
I brought this to the attention of the Council’s engineers when I was first briefed on these works and have spoken to them about it again. It was indicated to me that one pedestrian sequence would be in operation in every three traffic sequences so that there would be an interruption in traffic to allow residents to cross the road safely.
I am awaiting formal confirmation that this will happen, but will post it here as soon as I have it.
