It was an honour to have been invited, by An Taoiseach Leo Varadkar TD, to the National Day of Commemoration today.

Congratulations to all involved in organising this really lovely occasion in the National Museum of Ireland, Collins Barracks to commemorate those Irish men and women who lost their lives in militaryservice and on United Nations peacekeeping duty.

The ceremony commenced with a multi-faith service of prayer, after which the President laid a wreath on behalf of the people of Ireland. As part of the ceremony military honours (to An Taoiseach and An tUachtarán) were rendered by a Captain’s Tri-Service Guard of Honour from Óglaigh na hÉireann.

Great to see so many people from various different sections of society paying their respects.
