Today, I had the honour to be called to the Bar of England and Wales, at Lincoln’s Inn, in London.

I am very grateful to the Benchers and staff of the Inn, for making it a really welcoming and inclusive occasion, and I was impressed by how international the cohort of people called to the Bar was.

Being part of a minority, along with two other Irish barristers, it is striking, when you look at what the whole of the UK is doing in Brexit, how far away London is from what we see from some British politicians on news programmes. Diversity and international connectivity is the future, and I could not help but see clearly how Britain can only injure itself with this course of action.
