Simon Harris 04092019

I met minister Simon Harris TD this morning and discussed the recent announcement that the HSE Capital Plan will provide for the spending of over €2 billion on health capital projects over the coming two years, including works at the National Rehabilitation Hospital on Rochestown Avenue and Leopardstown Park Hospital, refurbishment of the Dalkey Community Nursing Unit (46 beds), and a second MRI scanner at St Vincent’s University Hospital.

The Plan will also provide €265m over three years to replace/refurbish residences for older people and people with disabilities, €300m to maintain and upgrade facilities, equipment and ambulances throughout the country, and funding for three new hospitals aimed at reducing waiting lists.

Between now and 2021, the HSE is committed to 250 projects across the country, 480 new beds, 30 new primary care centres, 58 community nursing units, and significant investment in mental health and disability projects in the community.

You can find a summary of teh Capital Plan here and full details here. There is also a Frequently Asked Questions page here.
