I am delighted to have been elected to the new Joint S2S Committee between Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council and Dublin City Council.
I proposed this committee before Christmas and it is the first s.52 committee ever to have been set up between DLRCoCo and DCC. I am grateful to my colleagues on the two councils, who expedited the necessary motions and cooperated to bring this about.
The Committee members are:
from DLRCoCo –
Kate Feeney (FF – Blackrock);
Deirdre Kingston (Labour – Blackrock);
Ossian Smyth (Green – Dún Laoghaire);
Melisa Halpin (PBP – Dún Laoghaire); &
Deirdre Donnelly (Independent – Stillorgan);
from DCC –
Claire Byrne (Green – Pembroke South-Dock);
Mannix Flynn (Independent – Pembroke South-Dock);
Jane Horgan-Jones (Labour – Clontarf);
Frank Kennedy (FF – Pembroke South-Dock).
This is the first formal opportunity for elected representatives on the two Councils to discuss this important public project. Hopefully it will also be an opportunity for us to definitively advance the Sutton to Sandycove promenade and cycleway. Follow further details on the S2S here and on our dedicated web site: www.s2s.ie
