Nirbhaya is an important piece of theatre, playing at Pavillion Theatre in Dún Laoghaire from the 21st of July to the 2nd of August 2014.

It tells the story of the real life incident that shocked India and the world when a young woman was attacked and raped on a bus in New Delhi in 2012, and subsequently died. This production gives a voice to women whose lives have been affected by sexual and gender-based violence. In this profoundly moving piece of testimonial theatre, five women now break their silence by sharing their own personal stories of sexual and gender-based violence with the world.

This production has touched the lives of everyone who has seen it and offers a powerful reminder of the strength of the human spirit and its remarkable capacity for survival. Powerful, moving and compelling. This is a once-off opportunity to see this play in Ireland. You can watch a short trailer about the show here.

Performances are nightly at 8pm (matineées 2pm) and lasts 90 minutes. Tickets cost €25/€22 (€18 for 21st July preview and Saturday matinées).
