On Christmas Eve, I had the pleasure of once again attending the annual ceremony to commemorate all those who died at sea during the year, and particularly the
15 Dún Laoghaire (or Kingstown, as it then wad) lifeboat volunteers who drowned trying to rescue those on the SS Palme, which foundered in Dublin Bay 123 years ago.
