Killiney Church

The dlr Summer of Heritage Programme 2015 continues tomorrow, Monday, with daily, free, guided tours of Holy Trinity Church in Killiney.

This significant, mid-19th Century church, on Killiney Hill Road near the entrance to Victoria Hill (Killiney Hill Park), will host tours between 2 and 4pm Monday to Saturday and 8am to 12pm on Sundays, for up to 30 people at a time, until the 6th of September.

The tour of the Church will include the famous Harry Clarke stained glass windows, the construction and consecration of the Church in 1848, and the various, interesting elements of the art and architecture within.

    Hello, Can you confirm that this Holy Trinity Church is Church of Ireland denomination and is classified as being in Rathmines in 1889. If so a marriage took place on June 13th 1889 recorded in the register page 98 , no.196. AnketellJones & Roberts. I am trying to establish if this is the parish church of the AnketellJones family and the burial place of Caroline DF AnketellJones who died 2nd March 1923. The name is usually hyphened.
    I found other references to a Holy Trinity Church at Killiney & am confused!

  2. Roz, I’ve been in touch with the Rector of Holy Trinity Church in Killiney. He has told me thst there are two Holy Trinity’s in Dublin – Killiney and Rathmines – and he suspects that this query relates to Holy Trinity, Rathmines. This is the Rathmines web site:
